Wow. First realistic post about coding assistants that I've read on HN, I think. [Disclaimer: that I have read. Doesn't mean there weren't others.] Too bad it's about NFTs but we can't have everything, can we?

Yes, I try to avoid the evangelism topics but they're much worse than blockchain and are taking up most of HN now. Can't help but click sometimes, always see the same arguments, so why not post the same thing as well? By the way,

Isn't paperback basically dead in the US because most sales are digital now? Tbh i've given up on dead tree books with the lone exception of a few hard covers because ... space the final frontier.

Basically it's because what "AI" can do is extremely different from what "AI evangelists" claim it can do. I haven't seen a single "AI evangelist" address any concerns and limitations, other by than &

Whatever happens will take a while, since the one google docs spreadsheet that I keep open - which isn't complex - uses 399 Mb just for its own tab.

I don't think Apple has used "desktop chips" in a looong time. With the lone exception of the Xeon Mac Pros.

Wireless is convenience on the go and when you don't give a shit, like work calls. Wired is for when you want to listen to music you really like and it's too late to use the speakers.

Tbh it may be the host that's causing the problems, not the headphones. I'm using pretty cheap JBLs with a mbpro and iphone and also never have any problems. Incidentally the same goes for bluetooth mice.

So if there's an active shooter on the one alley to your workplace you should still be at work in time, right? :) Or let's make the analogy clearer: if your Uber driver cancels the ride because there's an active shooter on th

Porting to mobile comes with a dumbing down of the control scheme and thus dumbing down of game complexity since you can't control it. And they turn into "free" with IAPs. Rather not.

Sometimes I have the feeling AAAs can be better optimized than Unity based indies. It's probably a bit better than when Unity was new. I do remember the first x-com remake in 2012 was lasting longer on battery than $random_unity_indie.

"Please don't post shallow dismissals, especially of other people's work." I wonder if an explicit expansion of that rule would help. Maybe in all caps. Saying "picking on grammar is a shallow dismissal".
