I keep reading similar arguments and I wonder was there ever any piece of evidence to support it?

Please try to refrain from ad hominem attacks. It doesn't help in any way to prove your point.

Mods are getting too trigger happy? In fairness if you give random "trusted" strangers power to delete anything they deem inappropriate they will start abusing their power, that's in human nature.

Thank you for the example, it's interesting to see k/v storage used for caching. I'll keep it in mind!

Great, thank you for the detailed overview. If you don't mind me asking, do you ever end up having problems with consistency? (I imagine it could happen if some data was written to 2 databases and the second one rejected the transaction.)

Does it mean that in a single project you may use two different storage solutions? SQL DB for relational data and NoSQL for queues, heaps, etc. ? I'm asking because for me it is a kind of a paradigm shift, I have used plain files and SQL DB

To be fair I know of programmers that hack their code until it works and then they forget about it. Next time they need to change something: take the ax and hack away...

Funny thing I even believed in it. After having failed the last interview I looked around and realized that there are many companies that do things that I consider more interesting than what Google does.
