Why would it matter if an AGI is conscious or not in order to be scared of it?

I want to say it's silly to blame the AI, or company here, because humans should ultimately be the judge of whether two faces match. But I must admit, facial recognition instantaneously brings millions of faces onto the suspect list th

"Molecular Biology of the Cell" Shout out to this book. Not only has the most amazing imagery, but you can learn a lot just by skimming the book, because of how well organized it is.

This and the parent comment come off as patronizing and missing the point. Grandparent was giving an anecdote about how video games work for them, not asking for alternative advice.

I don't think "randomly increasing prices" counts as a dark pattern. It's just a plain and simple economic pattern. The only reason some companies are able to get away with this is because too many people shop mindlessly

I'm a little skeptical at GPT-4 doing math. How often will it hallucinate answers? They only gave very few calculus examples. Has anyone tried it? Is it really there yet math-wise?

Yeah no. A micro ORM still expects you to write the full, raw SQL. The raison d'etre for a micro ORM is to capture the results of that SQL query into a simple, flat collection of objects in a way that has a better UX than your framewor

There's no citation, but I am assuming it's this: "A searchable image resource of Drosophila GAL4-driver expression patterns with single neuron resolution. eLife, 2023; 12 DOI: 10.7554/eLife.80660"

In this case the "map" is simply a set of high-res images, not a computer model. I don't think an image can be aware.
