You ever talk to a doctor about your focus problems? There are all kinds of medical issues from nutrition deficiencies to ADHD to sleep disorders that can cause focus problems.

You didn't actually say how you'll make it better, though! What about it is the problem currently? Incidentally, are you familiar with BauGruppen? It sounds in the vein of your interests.

I think the motorcycle is a decent idea, because it at least reduces emissions. However, there are issues of safety and weather. If a bike (possibly electric) works, that's probably the best commute vehicle.

The problem is most people want to have one vehicle per-person (or one total), so it's hard to have the ideal commuter vehicle and something that also supports your hobbies. For 90% of my trips, a small electric car with like 20 miles

This whole comment is spot on. To take the lodash example, you can easily hand-roll a bunch of methods to do things like group-by, index-by, etc. If you're not careful though, it's very easy to introduce a prototype pollution vuln

IDK, the internet of that era was a pretty toxic place. Sexism and racism were rampant, such that many people I know IRL simply refused to participate in most internet spaces (including HN). This gave the impression that those viewpoints we

IMO it's partially a discoverability issue. Hate groups target young/vulnerable people, and start off with subtle/ironic hate and then groom people into more serious hate. If you read leaked chat transcripts, and even KKK man

As far as I know, even famous indie artists you listen to and whose concerts you go to often have to work day jobs. Most are working class. There's not a lot of money being a musician.

I am already stacking the shots, as are the photographers I'm comparing to. It is also objectively true that noise is lower on FF cameras, specifically at higher ISO. You can see many comparisons of this online. The A7sii has larger pi

I think what happened is that larger sensors became cheaper, and companies also realized that people who buy dedicated cameras are willing to pay for them. Personally, I shoot Fuji, and it's fantastic, but when I compare astro stuff be

It's funny you say this about Canon, because in the circles of photography I inhabit, everyone shoots Fuji, Sony or film. It's fairly rare to even see a DSLR when I'm out hiking, say. But there's also a whole world of th

Oh cool, so we just need to fix a massive social problem that's generated by long-running structural trends within our society and economy. Then we can stop using plagiarism detection software.

Turning this into an issue of mere comfort betrays a great deal of privilege. Many, arguably most, people are a firing or two away from poverty and misery. In tech, this can be especially true of people early in their careers, and especiall
