American cities almost all have far lower crime these days than they did decades ago, and SF has a significantly lower murder rate than many cities. https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/06/us/san-francisco-crime-b

SF isn't an easy environment for self driving cars. Steep hills, congested streets, sometimes thick fog. But Waymo is busy causing traffic jams because when the cars get confused they just stop, and block traffic.

I'm much more interested in whether it can provide a better way to deal with the strong force. QCD is almost impossible to calculate with in most cases because everything diverges.

I read it, decades ago. I have to confess that i skipped some of the dryer parts, so I probably read 80% of it. There were parts that were just amazing, and other parts not so much so. It was well worth it.

The offset between local noon and time-zone noon is never that large, nowhere near what it's like in China, and it actually puts the center of the country closer to solar time. So it seems a reasonable thing to do, better than having t

No, moderated groups weren't that rare; they were mostly unmoderated though. For a while, social pressure kept things under control, as well as killfiles (allowing users to block each other). It was the beginning of the end when a pair

It makes perfect sense: the "natural" lines would give India two time zones; combining them into one half-hour time zone gives the whole country the same time. It did cause problems with the early Bell Labs Unix releases, which di

Sometimes you do need to consider compute cost, say if you want a small but high quality model that can run on a smart phone to perform a task. For example, with camera input, identify a plant or animal, while in a remote area with no cell
