Just this morning on my bike ride to work, a Cruise car was sitting in the middle of a road after turning right at an intersection. It was almost blocking the road entirely. The cherry on top was the Waymo that was stuck on the other side o

Without motive, this is just speculation. But, mental health / stability of pilots is not an easy thing to track, as the GermanWings crash taught us[0]. [0] https://admiralcloudberg.medium.com/the-madness-in-our-metho..

The best solution I can think of would be to start mass producing audio deepfakes of politicians that are clearly ridiculous, to the point where people know that it’s fake. Flood the market with that, and people’s trust will degrade, and

Not quite, you can define an illegal move as losing the game, and winning/losing is a “meta-observation” - ie if the player wins/loses, you don’t invoke another search.

You end up having to do a lot of things in a ML training run, some of which you can do in parallel because it’s not important now (eg saving metadata) or because you’d otherwise be resource limited (eg loading data and formatting batches fo

totally! MuZero is my favourite[1] The super cool thing about MuZero is that it learns the dynamics of the problem, i.e. you don't have to give it the rules of the game, which makes the algorithm very general. For example, DeepMind thr

but also, why the heck are they making another wonka? I don't think that the big studios are worth watching anymore - they're attempting to maximize expected ROI, not make a great movie (which is understandable in their position).

This seems incredible! If we put aside questions on how to collect the data, does this not suggest that we would be able to "read minds" (intentionally left vague) with an FMRI?
