For you, the day my Hawaiian shirt graced our workplace was the most important day of your life. For me, it was Friday. (I wear mine on Tuesdays.)

Personally, for me, it dipped pretty far into uncanny valley from its execution. I'll concede the notion is pretty funny though, having experienced the same from my stint in IT.

From what I can gather, it appears that a large amount of industry in Japan relies (or did at some time) on the long flowering cycle causing continual growth of the bamboo stalks, only further complicated by the cloning process that likely

It's just like power in any other form; legitimate power comes from the ability to influence others, but exercising that power to coerce others is a trade. If Google wants that power back, they need to earn it.

There was one episode where Sheldon spends a considerable amount of time ranting about Windows 8 with no relevance to the plot at hand, laugh tracks abound. I haven't watched since. It genuinely made me uncomfortable; not because I lik

I'm still an oddity among my friends for playing Nethack, Dwarf Fortress, and various MUDs over the current graphical offerings. Something about those games and the level of detail afforded to being purely in text, without the graphica

I'd imagine the fee would need to be at least a bit more rewarding than the current punishment is punishing.

Ah, I see. You mean to say that the governing body concerned with money laundering would pay the financial institution. I was under the impression the finder's fee would be attributed to the employee, by the financial institution (a si

Why would lobbyists work towards rewarding those who flag money laundering transactions when, presumably as presented by the parent comment, they make money off of these transactions? If anything, they would be lobbying against a finder&#

Volunteering is what got me into this business in the first place. As a youth that really didn't know where I was going, I volunteered at a community garden to stay busy, and the person running it was a software engineer. Volunteering

Interesting. I guess I was fooled then when I took a cursory look at the specs (months ago), and only really noticed the first part. Definitely won't be buying into the trend myself. Any ethical alternatives out there?

Thanks, somehow never noticed this article. For the record, my parent comment isn't rhetorical or sarcastic, I've just entirely avoided the trend and am not the target market.

It does appear that a lot of employers are dependent on younger employees interning before hiring them. A few of my peers are working for the same company; the ones that interned have quickly advanced in pay and position, and the ones that

Is there evidence that the big name home devices like Google Home and Amazon Echo actually collect your speech? I was under the impression it was just a small ARM board that uses recognition to execute commands. My mom has a Dot, but I am c

My experience is that I have hundreds of people to snooze, and would rather just have a fresh start and let those people trickle back in if they want to. Maybe I should just make a new account.

My distinction is that, for many, being poor isn't starting from the bottom, but rather being in the hole. While they both have nothing to lose, someone starting from the bottom has a lot more to gain given they aren't paying into
