The case against exceptions is unfair to Java, whose model is CHECKED exceptions. Of course, people hate them, but they are semantically equivalent to the new proposed solution, which is itself much better than current error handling in Go,

Complete bullshit. Generics have 0 relationship or co-dependency of any kind with the abstraction slash design patterns you mention. These are entirely possible without generics, and generics does not in any way encourage them.

Now? Anyone's willing to spend ad $ has been able to do this for ages. It's basic A/B testing. It's impossible to prevent.

Do you have any evidence for any of this, or did you just pick the most uncharitable possible scenario and present it as factual?

But then you don't understand your new browser. Also, as new features arrive in the original browser, you fall behind. You can't even hope to review the new changes, you can either merge them blindly or fall behind.

From experience, this works. But once you're done, consider whether or not you should publish the tutorial. At a minimum, have it reviewed by people that are in the known, and will give you honest feedback (insist on that).

Unless these myriad of dialog options lead somewhere meaningful, it's not much different from Mass Effect or the even older Knights of the Old Republic and other precursors.

Skyrim is merely a FPS with swords. It has dialogues, but so does this game (and apparently a lot of them).
