Firefox is already an excellent and fast browser and people just don't use it. I think it's a marketing problem. Google, Microsoft, Brave, etc all put a lot of money and resources into promoting their browsers, pushing them at an

Whatever about bombing Iran with conventional weapons, being the first president since Truman to nuke another country would split Trumps support base, and also legitimize using nuclear weapons in regional conflicts which would be extremely

Used to play a game when we were kids where one of us would start faking a yawn - stretching, contorting our mouths between words, breathing in as if trying to fight a yawn, trying to make the other person yawn before they realise.

I'm going to make a guess that you only began working from home during COVID, as a lot of people did. It takes discipline and doesn't suit everyone, and during COVID a lot of people who were not suited to it were forced into it. S

A lot to unpack here. I have children. I work from home. I don't look after them at the same time. This is true for every parent in my company who works from home. > A company can't demand a remote worker pay for child care so

I remember weirdness in c64 games because of tape errors. I remember playing tusker and it was like it was haunted. Main character changed colour and disappeared entirely, hud elements turned Eldritch between game screens. It was wonderful

Yes, completely agree. We're fine with text for dialogue in indie games and it's a lot easier to store and generate. I would happily have all the characters in Skyrim talk in text if the conversations were more dynamic. The only p

The legacy of the harrier lives on. It took almost forty years to come up with a viable replacement for the harrier in the f35, and even then despite being faster and more modern it doesn't have the range or ceiling that the harrier di

It makes me think back to "attention is all you need". Most of the LLMs seem to have quite limited attention, at least while coding. I suspect replit probably had similar issues while talking to itself, before it even gave me the

I had a fun day with replit yesterday. I signed up to try it out after someone at work mentioned it. I gave it a really simple challenge: a note taking app. Allow the user to write a sentence of plain text, and add it to an array with a tim

Again just to be clear, I'm not saying that AI can never or will never be conscious, or think. I'm saying LLMs (which are currently being mislabeled as AI) are not conscious intellects. They are, at their core, predictive text e
