Do normal people (read: non geeks) use Reevoo? I've never heard of it, but maybe that's because it's in the UK and I'm in the US. The population providing the reviews can skew these types of analyses.

50,000 seems like a lot of URLs, especially if an app centralized and can cache its calls to Embedly. $20/month seems more than reasonable for this number of URLs.

I think this brings up an interesting point of discussion: what should sites do now and what should they do later? In this case, a quick server-side check that did the same thing as a client-side validation seems like a no brainier, but wha

Scrolling is still very slow for me until the top section is off of the page. I'm referring to everything from "What’s happening?" through the Timeline - Lists tabs.

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely look into your suggestion, because if it's the optimal solution, I want it to be the first one I think of. Even though these types of problems don't come up for me that often, I'm sure there are times

I usually don't write the type of code to find users within two degrees, so I thought it'd be a fun exercise in my fun-time language, Python. And did you mean users instead of friends? If a user is already a friend with someone, that means

I guess it just goes to show you that once you sell, anything can happen, even if you're selling to someone you trust and respect.

I don't know why you think I'm angry. I don't own any Sophiestication software, and have no skin in this particular game. Let's focus on what I posted. The headline is concise and accurate. I specifically wrote, "letter of license agreement

She obviously made a mistake in her version numbers, but I think she's also phrased her response poorly. It‘s true that I could have made version 2.5 available through the legacy Sparkle updater. But maintaining two builds, one for the App

Other info, like your IP address...is still stored. Odds are DDG does this too, as it's mostly useful for overall statistics. You could have checked this assertion by reading DDG's plain-language privacy policy: When you access DuckDuckG

I wanted to post an addendum. While I still hold that Amazon's actions are censorship, I do agree that they're within their rights to censor certain content and I believe they have to do so at certain times in order to maintain their image

I don't think we're going to agree on this, but one of the definitions of suppression is, "the act of withholding or withdrawing some book or writing from publication or circulation; 'a suppression of the newspaper'." Amazon is withdrawing

I read that before I posted. Amazon's the controlling body in this case. The controlling body need not have authority over the censored, e.g. media outlet. People have been complaining about Walmart censoring media for years. I don't see ho
