Do you have some personal examples where Python wasn't suitable over bash for a non-trivial task? I am admittedly a not very good bash'er, and this week at work I whipped up my first "complicated" bash script, but ended

I'm ~7 years into my professional software career and it wasn't until the last year or two I took a huge interest in the database layer, I can attribute a lot of it to Designing Data Intensive Applications.

"Devil in the White City" is a very fun read which covers the planning and execution of the Chicago World's fair in 1893. It also is interleaved with a tale of a psychopathic murderer who came to town at the same time. https

Wow your books section is really awesome. I had the same idea of a virtual shelf like that! Do you happen to have any code to share? Unrelated, how do you read so much! I'm impressed by the quantity.

Doesn't this just serve your files? I was hoping to look for a way to get auto reload to work while being served by your Flask/FastAPI server. Maybe it's not a big deal to dev using "reload" but have your prod app s

I'm also confused by the `useTransition` idea, to be honest I don't exactly know when or where I would use it after reading about it. Sounds like a specific optimization tactic.

Does anyone have a nice dev tool setup which adds auto page refresh and production processed assets? One thing I noticed after making a small FastAPI/HTMX app was that I missed the hot reload of React. Also I noticed when I deployed to

I've only used HTMX for a tiny project along with FastAPI, it was basically just a single form page that would send the response in JSON to the server. Things I liked were that it felt really lightweight, easy to setup, and basically j

Sure let me rephrase. Does this data provide any support whether vaccines could be or not be a contributor?

I can already see this being used as a source that the vaccines are the reason for the increased deaths. Could anyone point out if how vaccines as the casue could be ruled out by this data?

I just want to chime in and say that the resources on your website look amazing. I spent 5 minutes poking around and it looks really high quality. I'm dabbling in Postgres's full text search (ts_vector) for a small website, I know

Can anyone describe the use cases between HTMX/Alpine and Unpoly JS? I see the 3 routinely mentioned, but I am unsure what coverage Unpoly has vs HTMX/Alpine. https://unpoly.com/
