I probably play devils advocate a little bit too much, but most people are too eager to firmly plant their feet in some belief, rather than just roll the ideas around. And if you like to probe around, you'll have some questions or at l

The point of the analogy was to represent that our actions may be essentially inconsequential if all holes are not sealed, and that larger holes or offenders should take priority. The hole size wasn't really all that important, but yes

That analogy doesn't really apply imo.. Global murder totals don't impact me like murders in America do. Similarly, climate change effects all parties, no matter their contribution. A better analogy, imo, would be something like a

It takes life a little bit to react to these changes though, e.g plants dying and ocean life being killed off. There's a risk of cascading effects from plant/animal network collapse. I have heard people building off of your idea t

From what I understand, the sun has also been getting hotter, hasn't it? I agree that man contributes to climate change, but quantifying this is where I think the conversation gets interesting. I haven't really gone very far down

I understand where you're coming from in pointing out what seems to be inconsistencies. But we've been dealing with coronaviruses since the beginning, while mRNA vaccines were only deployed en masse in 2019/2020 (right?). I d

Speaking strictly about mRNA vaccines, the risk is not yet well-defined, since it's a new tech, so doing a quantitative comparison at this point doesn't seem right. Additionally, the methods of data collection between vaccine and

Some forms of immunity decrease your ability to transmit to others, which protects those at risk, so it's not just about self-preservation.

I've thrown away so much stuff that has value. Pyrex erlenmyers this week, for example. I don't regret it and it's hard to do (for me), but I've learned every item you own has a cost associated with it, e.g maintenance o

I think by reflow I really meant "maintain zoom between page turns". On my Kobo's default software, I had to re-zoom each page (so I installed KoReader).

Hopefully they add open sourcing the whole stack to their roadmap. That'd be the best thing they can do imo. I'm so eager for a device like this that I can 100% get behind.
