There must be some engineers that noticed that, probably in a different team, that tried to raise their concern one way or another but probably hit the bureaucracy wall.

You are right, although NAT could be classified as a firewall feature, that runs on routers. But in any case it's irrelevant in this context as ATT shouldn't be doing any NAT

To my knowledge, from working on an actual software router, a router will only touch the TTL and recalculate the IP header checksum. There is no reason for it to touch the TCP header.

Why would a switch/router recalculate and rewrite the TCP checksum?

TCP header does have a checksum that is supposed to check both the header and the payload. So either the bit corruption is such that is not detected by the checksum Or ATT is doing something nefarious and touches layer 4 and corrupts the da

The hand and the shortcut are a different than the cheat device and the drugs. One is premeditated. The other it’s not. Just like murders.

Lots of people reply with obscure, land-mine “#define” hacks. Am I the only one that avoids meta programming with “#define” like the plague? One might argue it’s not even C..

If other people use and debug your code please consider NOT using “#define” meta programming. They are a nightmare to debug.
