I heard this, and have witnessed it. One of my first jobs included board rework. There were several times when I had to go ask if they wrote a uF or an nF. The response was always "obviously a uF", because nobody uses nF!

> Currently the bad quality of architecture and holistic view of models is probably explained by the fact that the models just cannot do it. Free markets and China will make sure of that, kind of. I'm not following. Free markets and

I think there's some confusion about what's going on here. A GPU is general purpose, for inference sake. You can run any model that can fit in it. It will be obsolete, as all hardware eventually is, but a 3090 today is more usef

I always find it funny when companies don't put any attempt to shorten the URL, filling it with plaintext url parameters, resulting in huge QR codes that can barely be scanned due to the density.

Yes, you can redirect the reader eyes elsewhere as many times as you like. That's the beauty of lasagna. There's a happy medium though. I've seen some people say "functions shouldn't be over 10 lines", which ma

This requires something other than a free market, and for China to not exist. We're not there yet. There's plenty of competition to prevent this, for now, with AI spending being an incredibly hot issue.

You've confused engineering compromise for malice, and reversed the purpose. For the model capabilities and inference power draw, what alternative do you see to a (at least mostly) fixed hardware model?

I think it's incredibly naive to assume there's not documentation. Maybe look into NASA and the Voyager 2 program a bit. Experts aren't made from reading a data sheet or process doc. Competence in performing a critical task c

Or, more likely, it's that concise code requires a much deeper, wholistic, understanding that these models just are capable of yet. Same with a junior dev. They don't write long form spaghetti because they're trying to writ

> Most of that additional reasoning is a lot of garbage and you can redirect it to useful output. What do you mean by "redirect it to useful output"? Could you give an example? This sounds interesting.

In this case, the preparation for "starting to leave" this benchmark would be getting a new benchmarks ready, because this one appears it will soon be obsolete.

Nobody with cursory knowledge of the US voting system would though. Edit: to the downvotes, our system doesn't care about popular vote, and neither do the most democratic/left left leaning states, who don't care to use propor

Not all is, including the one mentioned in the article. There are many "natural" chewing gum brands, that use plant based gum. You can buy boxes Amazon, or usually find them in the candy aisle of higher end grocery stores. You

I don't follow. How is that related? GPUs don't have fixed memory. You don't throw them away when you want to load a new model. NVIDIA will probably give us a new GPU when someone competent in the free market decides they wan

How is that in any way related to a consumer device? This method doesn't reduce physical memory requirements, so still results in huge die area. This isn't a for-end-user thing, probably for decades.

It's demonstrated fact that GPS is not 100% reliable, which would be required to meet the "on its own" requirement. See the article you're commenting under, and documentation about it from the FAA [1]. [1] https:/&

Cameras that require internet to connect to are a mistake, but cameras that use Wifi for local link are fine (wifi is perfect for this). And, having some way to connect remotely is a requirement, for most everyone.

Looks like VP8 has a max resolution of 16383x16383 pixels. Looks like minimum block size is 4x4 pixels, so 4096x4096 blocks, with maybe 7x7 blocks per gate, including some wiring, so maybe something like 500x500 logic gates? I don't th

"Starting to leave" is not the same as "leave" or "left". When I start to leave my house in the morning, I have not yet gone through the door, but I'm on my way. I walk towards the door to leave the house.
