I had no idea how expensive owning a dog was. Vet and dog food prices have all shot up. Before I used to say you should get a pet, now I don’t. Same with kids. It’s insanely expensive to have kids. You wanna stick it to P/E and capital

Not sure why you got downvoted with /s tag. Is it really freedom of a drug hacks into your brain biology to make you desire something over and over again?

Gary Marcus has become attention seeking lately. I unfollowed him. Most of his posts were attacks on other people instead of genuine contributions on how we can make AI actually better and safer. Easy to criticize, much harder to offer effe

You’re getting downvoted because of name calling, not because you have a different view. “Losers who will run till they die” “Bunch of amateurs” That level of inflammatory discourse ain’t welcome here.

We are talking about trillions of tokens. I’m sure the big players like Google, Meta, OpenAI have used anything and everything they can get their hands on. Libgen is a wonder of the internet. I’m glad it exists.

Applied for Meta through a referral in 2023. Got ghosted. Which is weird because recruiters reached out for both Meta and Google in 2021 and I passed their interview then. I took a job at a startup instead. Not sure if good or bad decision

How old was he? We doubled our lifespan from 32 to 75 from 1900 to now. In a 100 years, we changed the game. Once we pass 50, there is a lot of complex machinery at play including genetics, past history, diet, drinking, smoking e.t.c. to ca

I use Github co-pilot but 55% productive is a bullshit number. Perhaps 1% may be. Most of co-pilot suggestions are either simple pattern matches or subtle hallucinations where I have to catch and fix silly bugs. Github Chat is not very usef

I have yet to see an LLM build and debug something complex. Barely stringing TODO apps, sure. Still need a competent human to oversee. Hallucination are a serious problem. Without symbolic reasoning, LLMs quickly start to fall apart due to
