Banning is pretty dumb. I like the WA law of 8c per single use bag. High enough that it makes you think whether you need yet another bag. But low enough that if you need it, it’s there. I also love Aldi and Costco not having bags. Slight in

My bet for 21st century. Mars is a planet of robots and will continue to be. Optimisus’s descendants will first step on Mars before humans will. We will figure out general artificial intelligence embedded in robots before humans step on Mar

That’s really cool. Skin is our largest organ. It’s like another vision system with high bandwidth signal but we don’t have anything close in digital world. Even putting snow gloves heavily impairs dexterity since we can’t feel as much.

I must say browser extensions are a god send. The browser and web being a fairly open platform. With ublock origin I can block specific parts of a site. Can't do any of it with locked down mobile apps. Youtube is now at late stage capi

Hats off to TSMC. They had big culture clash and US has a lot of red tape and high labor costs. They did it! Also kudos to CHIPS act. I'd rather have Boeing and Intel wither off, for them to be replaced by new players who bring highly

There are three fundamentally contradictory paradigms. 1. human lifespan has doubled in last 100 years. Lifespan is still increasing but healthspan isn’t at the same rate. This means in the later years, we are spending a fortune on healthca

I was surprised to learn Aussie WA (Western Australia) has 40% higher electricity prices compared to Murican WA (Washington). Aussie WA could be having the dirt cheap electricity with utility-scale solar + batteries but they don't. Sam

Apple had iPod which was almost an iPhone already and they had decades of hardware and UX experience. They needed the cellular bits which they didn’t all build inhouse. Qualcomm is still the modem giant and Apple still uses them.
