I essentially load in two columns one called timestamp and another with a json blob. I then use this to kick off materialized views to automagically pluck out relevant JSON fields into views Similar to this https://eng.uber.com&#

Coolest part of clickhouse is it’s ability to do ETL automagically. It really is a super power.

If you don't check every day, it's inevitable you will miss something. I guess the real need is not a webpage but more of a notification service that tells you the major news stories of the day.

I can get a dedicated baremetal server up and running in 10 minutes after paying for it (some can get it done in seconds). Scale does NOT matter for the vast majority of usecases. For example, the parent comment talked about on-prem excha

Why are you comparing it to selfhosted? BareMetal has been a thing for decades and outperforms the "cloud" on cost and performance for the vast majority of usecases.

Zero chance Apple gets broken up. They have too little of marketshare for any market that they participate in.

It's perfectly fine one column for a timestamp and one column to store the json You then build materialized views pulling out whatever json fields you need.

Why? The language related work takes place elsewhere. The term “core team” is just a misnomer.

The rust core team is/was never accountable. Which is fine because the language work is done elsewhere thankfully.

Disagree storing json in databases is often the best thing to do. Clickhouse for example allows you to quickly pull out relevant data and feed materialized views.
