I literally have been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt. There used to be some great Linux t-shirts back in the day but, that bright orange Freshmeat shirt is one I wish I never tossed. I can't even find a pic on Google Images.

Did you see my comment about "yes I could rearch my code but..." The fact that I'm writing in some very specific way to please a linter IS the problem... regardless of whether we tell someone beforehand. If I know I have a de

So we have a guy saying that he's receiving calls against Biden's support of Ukraine. Certainly we have something more verifiable than that, right? That insane tweet by Candace Owens, yep. That is the type of thing I'm lookin

I keep hearing this on places like Reddit. I see memes parroting this. But with all the right-wing folks I know, I've yet to hear ONE say they actually think this invasion is a good idea, or that Putin is a good guy. I even visited Tow

This is actually a really cool article. I'm fascinated that we can learn languages this way. Immersion is definitely the avenue I'd seek but, often, that is not possible. The time table the author kept was amazing. One thing caugh

Bad? I don't think I'd use that term. Fragmented? Full of "bike-shedding"? Fanboi-ism? Definitely those things apply. There are some tools that seem to dominate the market currently. And as often is the case, you may for

I don't blame the language for what the community does though. I mean, I've suffered through VBScript. I know how bad a utility/glue language can really be. Netscape did have it running on the server way back in the 90s too.

You're right. The first machine I installed Linux on wasn't my own. It was a friend's Pentium, and he had partitioned a drive. It was 98/99 before I was regularly trying out distros from Cheapbytes, Linux Mall, etc. My d

By the time I got into installing Linux (1996+), I always seemed to be able to find salvageable pentium machines 166Mhz and above. But, my sister ended up returning my old AMD 486 DX4 120Mhz after they bought a new computer. I threw FreeBSD

For an enterprise to move to Java 16, a huge amount of code needs to be reviewed and tested. It's not as simple as incrementing a number in 200 pom.xml files. Sure records are pretty cool but Lombok does do a few other things as well.
