No status code system is ever perfect or you wouldn’t get the benefit of the status codes. I feel like this problem is solved higher up by doing exactly what you say via OAuth, etc.

I do not think Go Modules supports pinning except at the major version level and even there v0 and v1 are treated as fluid. My experiences trying Go Modules has shown it to “randomly” modify the go.mod file.
