bookdepository.com is the one I often hear about. Particularly because Amazon isn't available in all countries, and The Book Depository's prices are sometimes pretty comparable. Shipping is still 1-2 weeks though.

Is there a problem with that? Taxes are there to benefit the society, not the individual. In Norway's case, it definitely seems to be a benefit for society.

The challenge is that, after a certain period, additional training becomes a requirement of continued payment. So, if you're 20-something and been out of work for 6 months, they'll require you receive training and qualifications i

Spotify's implementation is actually very clever; they've accomplished it in a way that doesn't involve repositioning background images like nearly every other library out there. They also stick to native functions as much as

For FED's that are curious, iOS doesn't fire requestAnimationFrame or update the DOM when the user is scrolling natively, which is why it appears very jumpy on those devices.

I think this approach actually disregards the original purpose of copyrights. To judge its importance before it has the opportunity to realise any cultural impact would be a pretty biased approach; since word length, or duration, or simplic

You can also just snapshot them, and roll-back when you're done.

Its a virtual machine though, just make a snapshot once you have it booted and working as you'd like, and roll it back when you're done. If I remember, that was Microsoft's recommendation as well.

If it were uploaded to YouTube servers, and shared across CDN's around the world, would that not be distribution in the finer sense? Additionally, "private" is different than unlisted, and the video can still be shared publicly, just in a l

Since this is a UK Government site, I think the Equality Act 2010 requires WCAG 2.0 AA compliance. As difficult as WCAG is, and I've yet to see a fully-passed implementation, the lack of no-JavaScript support probably means they haven't met

I agree. If you weren't aware of this book, followed that link, liked what you saw, and then purchased it, why shouldn't the person who linked you to it in the first place have some kind of reward? (particularly since Amazon pays it, not th

Just to nitpick, the post you linked to by Ian Hickson does illustrate how DRM has been used to limit functionality, but both your post and his doesn't explain why "copyright protection" is a straw-man? I don't believe it is a fair argument

I don't know much about the pipes actually, but I do believe a new one is being constructed. That said, I am curious to know the answer to this question too. I guess torrenting within the borders will be a speedy affair however.

"Coincides" was the keyword from that quote. Correlation isn't causation. I think the entire statement is a little alarming; it kind of implies that a lack of sexual outlet will inevitably lead to rape.
