This makes me wonder, is there analysis of the syntax and if so can't it pick the lightest implementation? I see how light dillo is on the same page as chrome and I don't know why a web browser of the caliber of chrome does so muc

If you ever want to look at example code, try going to rosettacode instead of the handpicked selection on the homepage of many websites.

You kind of always have to go on a quest for a library on the internet, why would lua be any different? For lua, luarocks is its module registry and you can sort by most downloads, which sometimes leads you to buggy modules, but what can yo

It's best to say that its tied to luajit, because at this rate, luajit is its own mixture of lua features, which they backport from newer versions.

I'd love to use APL if it wasn't pay to use, or just, an absolute pain to install, there's also j, but I find it worse to use single letter names for functions, ivy seems like the best of both worlds.

A lot of people hate C++, that doesn't grant you the ability to make a language, however very few have the opportunity to create a new language out of free time provided by said language taking too long to compile. I do not know why th

This is all subjective so I suppose I should add an IMO, Even back then many games were preferable on the N64 like megaman legends, what the PS1 offered that was superior was storage, which allowed for more music and FMVs, and also allowed

Go was built because C++ does not scale. Anybody that's ever used a source based distro knows that if you're installing/building a large C++ codebase, better forget your PC for the day because you will not be using it. Rust a

If you think that's bad, try learning python or a verbose language while not speaking english, all of these words like while, for, if, else, break are just gibberish and your code just reeks of some weird mish mash of broken english an

It's understandable that disney wants to hold Mickey as their symbol, I do not blame them for it, but, ironically as a child, I did not know Mickey Mouse, and I bet even fewer children know who Mickey Mouse is now.

Isn't making things more performant a juvenile ideal? as I get older, I no longer care about making things better, just getting it done. (Not everyone is as polite as you lemon. Seems like the majority of the internet has namecalling t

What's suprised me is that there is a line length limit on #! for 256 bytes. You can have spacing after #! for some reason? POSIX does not mandate -S, which means any script that uses it will only work on freebsd/linux

1 person using an umbrella, 4 are not. I'm starting to doubt if you're even human given that normal people don't go throughout their entire lives always carrying an umbrella wherever they go, even when it might rain.

You can, sure, but, tail seeks to EOF and then goes back until it finds "\n", awk cannot seek, so you must do what you did there, that means the bigger the file the longer the time. And there's also tail -f, how would you go

awk is so much better than sed to learn given its ability, the only unix tool it doesn't replace is tr and tail, but other than that, you can use it instead of grep, cut, sed, head.

Good for extensibility is a claim I've never heard before, I've always found awk's "everything is global scope" as a huge limitation, but if its scripting then I suppose you could just... isolate each script's
