I'm not surprised that industry prefers W2V over Transformers, given how heavy-duty the latter can be at inference time. It's been a few years since I looked at it, but IIRC fastText is basically just w2v with subwords, so it'

If you're really concerned, you can always also compile F# to Mono assemblies (though in my experience it does lag .NET CLR in functionality, so you'll probably need to use an F# version a few minor releases earlier than the offic

I've lived in Beijing (sub-zero winters) and currently live in Singapore (30 degrees/80%+ humidity year-round). I would much prefer to face a cold winter than hot and humid year-round. The weather is the main reason I'll even

No (at least, not the version I read a few years ago). But transformers are a specific neural network architecture, so I’d still recommend the book for the fundamentals around backpropagation, activation & loss functions, etc. Once you’

I'm not defending recent tech valuations (which I agree are ludicrous), but it's worth remembering that technological superiority != commercial value. It doesn't matter how good you are at building a technically complex produ

Price anchoring is a pretty well researched/understood phenomenon though - as in, whoever comes up with the first number sets the tone for what's "acceptable". Someone who negotiates down from that number feels like they

I’d be surprised if many sets are premixed, but many are preplanned (as in, the DJ knows which songs he/she will play, in what order, and how many bars out/in to start the fade). Of course, that’s still pretty boring to watch, whi

That’s a really insightful comment, and also the reason why I think my code quality improved considerably after learning Clojure and F#. I discovered that immutability in functional programming made it far easier to reason about state - som

I don't think Carmack has ever been "hired" for a job since he was a teenager. So you're right, he's talking about "this makes you desirable in my eyes", not "practical employability through the lens
