Aren't people on this thread being too harsh on Upwork? I agree that there are problems with the way it works, but nothing is ever perfect. I happen to be from a country with a lower cost of living than US/UK and Upwork allows me

In Portugal we have had this service for many years and it works regardless of the bank ( https://www.mbnet.pt in portuguese). Most people I know always generate one of these cards for online shopping, it's safer and easier

If you want to post animated gifs and embed youtube videos you can't use IRC. Everything depends on the requirements. To find the right solution you have to understand what your client needs, not what he thinks he needs.

The bad UI generates a sort of viral effect. I know a lot of young kids who use snapchat and often the conversation starts with 'How did you do that effect on that video?' or 'How do you send a text message without a picture?

It's server side encryption, they still can access your files. That's how they generate thumbnails for example.

Personally I don't like spaces because every now and then I find a service that doesn't accept them - ex: you can't have spaces in your IRC password. ASCII printable characters are enough for me.
