Thanks for the kind comment! It's amazing how similar it is to divergent evolution in the biological sense. You have almost all the same factors at play. And to your note about "trained-in-America" skills, it's a really

Hi HN! I'll be hanging out in the comments for any feedback. I posted this application several months back for beta users, and I am happy to say it is now launched! Thanks for reading

We should not allow an economy where all of the gains from disruptive innovation are effectively subsumed under a few companies that take all the profit with no incentive to innovate on their own. We're already seeing the tech giants e

Genius does not appear to give a number on how many of their lyric pages had the hidden apostrophe codes, so we have no idea what the actual total count of copied songs is. I think the bigger issue is that Google denied having done anything

Arduino LED's was the first thing that came into my mind as well. Even as a 21 yr old I got absurd pleasure from lighting up LED's and changing their colors and patterns. If OP did want to show code, he could explain how computers

A great book, half very intelligent, half completely insane. Bridgewater must be a place all its own.

I'm not the other guy, but I honestly don't see an argument for why this is fraud. Is this against the terms? Can you point to a specific line in the terms forbidding this? Your argument just seems like "this is clearly fraud

Implementing a CPU simulation is a classic college exercise, as you can see in these comments. Super valuable based on how memorable it was for everyone! It really helps de-mystify computers.

I was in last fall's Startup School which Geoff was very involved in. He seems like a great leader and you can tell the other YC partners get along well with him.

It doesn't seem like Tesla knows how to make it profitable either, to be honest. Their current plan for profitability appears to be the million robo-taxi fleet by 2020 rather than the auto manufacturing business.

Yeah each free form text entry field becomes both a image category and a new folder that images will get sorted into. If you need to clear out the empty bots you can just delete the contents of stowbotlist.json. There will be a cleaner inte

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really interested in open sourcing this. I'm familiar with the danbooru set from Gwern's posts about it but I don't really intend to use it for anything.

Normally it means that my server would be in the process of training a neural network which would get sent to you. Did you specify categories? I see a request that was just empty, which was dropped by the server as looking like a fake reque

Yep, the sorting is all local, but the training happens on my server. The space of "categories of images" is super large, but generally this will work well on things that you can find on the internet with simple keyword searches.

Tesla was selling FSD for 3k. Selling something with no guarantee that it even exists does not seem like honest business practice.

Actually solving this problem is enormously difficult, it is practically unsolved, isn't it? Seems unfair to judge small projects for not solving bias issues that google and amazon can't even deal with.

From taking the course I realized that I wanted to do deep learning rather than what I was going into otherwise (likely some other kind of data science or fintech). I quit my job to go harder on deep learning studying and apply to jobs, but
