It looks a bit like Pinot Noir was already on a pretty clear upswing, could this not just be a correlation with trends in wine in general - dryer, less sweet/bodied reds? It would be interesting to see a comparison to whites - are Char

To be fair, I referred to it as "similarly disliked." From a technical sense I'm less afraid of malicious plugins destroying my business like I might be with WP. My stance is if I'm doing X, my preference is to find soft

From a technical sense there are plenty of alternatives, even similarly disliked platforms like medium or wix. The problem is none of them are interested in turning a basic CMS into a wasteland of kitchen sink functionality that aims to tur

It does, but so do interpreted languages and the many compiled languages with different compilation targets. It's less of a problem in 2021 than it was in 1995.

Well I think you and I are saying the same thing. Don't chase the shiny new thing. That said, by that time Nginx was a proven performance upgrade over Apache 1.x and 2.x. Quantifying that value is tough but it certainly had value attac

By the mid 2010s it had definitely proved its mettle. Arguing that it wouldn't have provided enough benefit to justify the switch is different than saying it was unproven by that point.

Granted I've done exactly this before, but why put Nginx in front of Apache? In my experience it added headaches without any real benefit. (Unless you don't mean Apache webserver but rather some other Apache product)

I really take for granted how well Nginx works across a number of web backend functions. Some of the container/orchestration world has tried to supplant the need for it as a reverse proxy, but you get so many goodies out of the box jus

I think zigs documentation is wonderful and explains most seemingly esoteric syntax and language options really well. But if you hit a roadblock it's hard to track down more info. Some of that is due to the lack of adoption, though.

Disney+ is another example of this. Derided prior to launch in late 2019 as having missed the boat, it's a massive force now. Same with HBO Max, which added even more user hostile behavior, but ... they have their content so it's
