They don't even mention video editing though, only 3D. I wonder why (really, have no idea)?

Yes, sorry--I meant that it's dismal because there's only 1 that actually works! :-)

I think Linux varies a lot according to distro and packages/libs installed, it might be that, too. Shotcut wouldn't keep working with XFCE4 Xubuntu 16.04 for me. If I applied any heavier effect it would freeze, then crash.

Shotcut (on Linux at least) just doesn't work. I've used pretty much all amateur video-making software for Windows and some for Mac, Screenflow, FinalCut Pro, etc. The best by far is FinalCut Pro (Mac-only), because it automatical

I'm not comparing, I see "retarded"as a stronger "stupid". When you say "fat check" you're comparing to fat people, it's just the same adjective.

I have mixed feelings about this issue. When people say it, they're most often than not not even referring to people (as in this case). I don't immediately get how saying that _something_ is retarded is offensive to _people_. Peop

> Usually, credit card verification was used How convenient. That doesn't prove age at all. In fact, as a kid I'd steal my parent's credit card, but now that I'm an adult I don't own one. Go figure.

Yes, no idea. What I find awful is that HN and Reddit save me time by sorting out low-quality content, while on Twitter you're the one that has to work hard to do it (if you can), and Twitter itself just adds more noise in the meantime

I've yet to figure out why anyone would consume any kind of content on Twitter. I've used it for a while, and what I got is that it's goos for (and people use it) to spam others about your projects or show off. However, if yo

Since that seems to be a popular excuse to start wars and otherwise-unacceptable laws, I doubt they're doing that. Fear is pretty good for politicians.

Yes but what does surveillance have to do with bombings. Have they ever stopped 1 single bombing because they were filming regular people going by their business..?

What is the real reason behind surveillance? The government(s)'s excuse is terrorism, but terrorism in Europe doesn't kill a big enough amount of people to justify these drastic measures. I would argue also that no one has proven

Meh, if your servers are valued that much, you should know better. I even know that Apple is not investing in servers anymore and hasn't in years. AFP was also abandoned. They should've planned for this and switched to some more s

The only difference I notice between window managers is configuration options: is there a shortcut to send the window to another workspace..? Can you resize when maximized, etc. What features would you personally miss?

Well, you know--people have opinions. If not, we'd all be using OS/2 on IBM PCs instead of Windows, Macs, Linux, etc.

Nothing stops the developers of--let's say--XFWM4 to create a Wayland version that is identical to Xorg's.

The Mac is highly optimized for battery life both in its hardware, software, and mix of software taking advantage of their own hardware. Can't beat that. Xfce4 is definitely very light on resources, though.

I had been using Apple phones and computers since 2008, and in the last few years everything got so crappy that I'm using XFCE4 on a Chinese Thinker i35, and I couldn't be happier. I can use the extra money to take my girlfriend o

I am not talking about images, and I never have. I'm talking about maps + GPS (where is the road? will it curve in 50 meters?), and radar (what's in front of the car? how far is it? is it in the middle of the street, or on the sid

Those signs are 4 meters above ground level. You're saying that that can't/shouldn't be taken into consideration? They're not at all in front of any car...
