Might be slightly unrelates, but does this help with stopping companies from patenting living organisms? That's my main worry regarding patents: that a patented crop will disperse its seeds and mix with non-patented crops and all of a

My American ex-wife was afraid about this, then she found out that in Italy you pay 0. We are really lucky.

Well, Apple went to Ireland just to get a tax break, and its desire to stay depended on future tax breaks. It's not surprising that Ireland would want to keep being able to give the tax break: very small taxes from Apple (and other com

It's like illegal prostitution. If people didn't have sex with prostitutes, there wouldn't be prostitutes.

As time passed I found myself using Apple apps less and less. They just go so ridiculously bad: form over function, buggy software, worse UI and features compared to competitors.

If we're talking about efficience, I would argue that concentrating on letting governments know would be even better. Facebook knows that regular users have no idea about privacy and it would take years to lose a big enough portion of

Well if Publix knows that depends on whether you use cash or card at sexy shops ;-) As for the rest, that just depends on how much you share, and I would argue that other companies (like Google) might know even more than Facebook does. I&#x

This obsession with Facebook is getting really annoying. When I lived in the States 15 years ago Publix (and I guess other stores, or maybe my bank) already sold a list of everything I bought with my debit card to advertising agencies, alon

Really? Even just the file locking would make it an upgrade, since it would allow you to avoid restaring your PC after upgrades like 30 years ago. What makes Windows internals superior to Unix-based systems?

You seem great at diagnosing why what we're saying doesn't make sense, but you don't have anything to back whatever your point is. Since we don't have access to Facebook logs and can't know how many times people sig

I don't know if Facebook's influence hasn't been reduced already, and how many users it actually has. I still have an account for instance, but I log in only once/mo. and keep it solely for the API keys. My friends seem

I would switch to Windows in a heartbeat if they dropped NT and switched to becoming a Linux distro with a Windows emululator for legacy apps.

Would it not have been enough to pass a law that prohibited survaillance? It's a wonderful initiative, but I doubt the average user will switch.

Yes, it's the component's responsibility to animate a panel that is part of it, I would think. Perhaps providing hooks to override the behavior, but even not.

Yes, it's the only way that it makes sense. It's not that limiting, you can probably use animate.css. I absolutely have to look into this soon.

Transitions are fine, I'm more worried about how to give an indication that a panel has been open or similar. I'll check it out, though! If you have a mailing list feel feel to add me: me@nbrogi.com :-) EDIT: I think your comment

One thing completely missing from courses is how to handle animations. Most React apps have no animations whatsoever (including mine, because I have no idea how to implement them), but they're important for usability IMHO.

It's really amazing how little insight Apple showed with their latest moves. They removed all ports, replaced keyboard with a noisy one that stops working unless you clean it daily, reduced battery life to make the thing a few millimet

Cool, but it's "on a budget" for the States. In Europe, I can go from cold to the beach with EUR15 with Ryan Air, and AirBnB for as low as EUR20/night in a decent apartment in many towns. That's on a budget European
