Fruiting plants are a pain because you have to shake them to pollinate. We mostly stick to leafy stuff. The lights are incredibly bright, top of the line horticultural COBs. They are not the pain point.

This is especially pronounced at high altitude, and when running a furnace in the winter. I keep large black tents (4x4 ft or 2x4) in every bedroom in the house, and grow kale, spinach, chard, peas, tomatoes, etc inside (with handmade COB L

We no longer fear nuclear annihilation because we have a functional global society. Climate change is already causing huge damage to this. Syrian drought -> refugees -> anti-immigrant sentiment -> populist leaders -> ++boomLikel

Debugging is the best. It feels so good when you stop hitting yourself in the face. Inheriting a huge mess is harder to love, but refactoring payoffs are huge. What I will never do again is inherit a huge buggy mess and a boss that wants yo

Healthfulness of foods by comparative farming practices is not something I have been able to find any solid information about. Hopefully our taste buds know what's good for us when they're not confused by sugar and fat. Life - Dan

I raise channel catfish in my own home aquaponics system. If you don't plan on eating the fish or enjoying them as pets, it's not worth it at all. Feed is indeed the big pain point. All good feeds have fish meal and GMO soybeans e

I like that the post mentions she's mined 200,000 Satoshis. Is this some kind of Bitcoin Shibboleth? I had to google it. It's about $8.
