Microsoft sell direct to consumer[1]. Every consumer electronics store I walk into has a bunch of Apple gear sitting on store shelves also. [1] http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/html/pbPage.

Will this support horizontal scrolling also, e.g. freeze a table column?

I'm genuinely curious, why was a full web dev stack on windows so painful? And, why is OSX better?

Just to clarify, you don't need to use routing/http/etc to get the benefits of Angulars DOM binding.

Just another data point, I met 3 other people with 920s within 2 weeks of launch. Seems like any time MS gets favourable press these days, they must have paid for it :/

Have you got a source for evidence that MS funded this test?

Why are they hacks? HTML provides a set of well-defined, programmatically accessible, renderable elements which support events. You are free to manipulative them as you see fit. If you want to paint your own controls, you can do that too. I

I'm sorry, I meant that the comment I replied to didn't seem to imply that HTML meant "suite of relevant standards". HTML/JS/CSS as an application development platform is improving and covers most development needs, social, LOB, SaaS, etc.

Yeah, I agree with you on that. The comment I replied to, not so much...

I can't tell if this is a troll or not, but I'll bite. HTML is not a programming language full-stop. I've heard javascript is pretty decent though

There's plenty of js grids out there that allow you to pass in column definitions. You should try out angular.js, you can build your own directives to support expressions like "grid columns=3"

A few things really: 1) a good friend recommended angular to me, in pre-1.0 days, the site was horrid, and I just couldn't grok angular. The framework, site and docs have improved drastically over the last year. 2) I was initially against a

It's really not so bad, I'm in no way an angular expert, but reading that passage (even out of context), is not beyond the realms of comprehension. I think it says what it needs to say in the context of the surrounding information, no more,

Ha ha, nice way to scare people off angular and justify their decision ;) Transclusions are an interesting feature to cherry pick because a) they're a necessary complexity to enable reusable components (one of angular's greatest strengths),

Have used both ankhSVN [1] w/ VS2008 extensively over the last few years and lately using Git Source Control Provider [2] w/ VS2010. Both tools have been excellent for me, have very rarely needed to drop down to external tools. YMMV [1] ht

I believe Visual Studio 201x Intellitrace feature is very similar, it "lets developers step back in time to see what happened in an application without having to restart the debugger". http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/dd2649

Bah, ignore that. Try out the JSFiddle linked for the "Wire up a Backend" example on http://angularjs.org/

Check out http://jsfiddle.net/api/post/library/pure/ , it uses a single file for the entire angular app. From my experience, spreading services, controllers, etc over multiple files is just for convenience.

Care to name them? You don't specify what rules you play by, but Monopoly should only take 1-2 hrs max. Hoard everything you can get hold of is a sure fire way to lose against experienced players. Income from non-monopolies is a pittance, s
