Dalrymple is an excellent historian and author. I also highly recommend his first book, "City of Djinns: A Year in Delhi" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Djinns ).

I'm not sure if you use tmux, but the way I do it is to open a new pane below the original, edit what I need to, and then close that pane when I'm done. The original screen remains untouched.

HackerDB was mentioned in the Q&A session after one of the config management talks at the Usenix LISA conference last week. I'm glad there are tools like this being actively developed. I think perhaps the reason they keep being red
