I'd really love a good GUI framework for .NET Core on Linux, but there's nothing really out there yet.

This was the #1 thing I was hoping this would provide when I clicked on the link. Basically stops me from even bothering to use virtual desktops on Windows, I got so used to having my laptop screen as a "persistent" desktop with s

>You could put around 50 MB data on it, which translates in around an hour of high fidelity music (Opus codec or HE-AAC) How on earth are you supposed to play that back?

After reading the article I came here to have exactly this rant. Thanks for doing it for me. Also, I'm not sure where they were trying to go with the "tapes are cheaper and more convenient than vinyl! This is great for small indie

I mean, you can have it installed alongside regular Safari and just switch between them at will. It's not an all or nothing decision.

I can't believe we're having this discussion again (it caused drama in the libreSSL thread too). The packages are signed by Apple. You don't need SSL to distribute signed packages.

Unfortunately it's what all of the pro-Android Apple-haters at my office immediately said. I don't think he was in any way biased, just passionate. If his reviews of Apple products were in any way more detailed than those of Andro

I came here for a bit of expert commentary on the article. I can only assume it must be pretty water-tight if we're sitting around arguing about this ...

I work for a relatively major cinema chain and we're experimenting without outright phone bans in a few of our trendier cinema sites. Seems to be going well so far, people respond well to it in general. Hopefully we can push it out to

I can't give you any useful information, aside from saying that I tried to work out the answers to these questions myself not long ago and the result was 'it depends'. Many of the values are manufacturer specific.

This is Yelp - don't they have a track record of leaving fabricated negative reviews for companies that refuse to do business with them? They probably don't want to reveal the identities of the anonymous reviewers because they

I'd love them to do a Mono / .NET IDE so that I wouldn't have to use Xamarin Studio on Linux / Mac anymore. Actually, I'm going to see if I can go put this on a wish list somewhere...

I have to disagree with both of these guys, it was so slow in Visual Studio 2013 that I actually disabled it. Then I was forced to re-enable it when I couldn't live without the functionality.

They simply repackage and rebrand RHEL, then give it away for free. If anything I'd be quicker to call RHEL the free rider on the hundreds of pieces of OSS software they use (but I do not make that argument). If you want a warranty

Seconded. I can't think of any huge, groundbreaking features that have been included in, say, new laptops over the last 10 years. Faster, thinner, lighter, better battery life, nicer displays, what more do you want? It's turning into a soft

He's biased, but he DOES cater to his audience (who are also potentially biased). I was really curious to hear what he thought about the enlarged screen, for example, because I suspect his views and opinions closely align with my own.

It's not nearly as bad as Android, if only because new display profiles mostly obsolete the old ones -- there's a clear progression. The mini-iPad, however, may be the first device to break this rule.

Great review. I'm disappointed that the screen size change is noticably awkward -- I was hoping it would be something that you'd get used to in a matter of minutes. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus and hitting the top left is impossible with
