Have you tried running 3 or even 4 puma workers (each with 8-16) threads on a dyno? That way you can get more concurrency on CPU-bound requests in addition to IO-bound concurrency (assuming MRI).

Codetriage looks like an awesome idea. Just signed up. I also meant on MRI since the GVL exception for I/O works good enough for most web app requests. If you can fit 7 Unicorn workers on a dyno, I bet you could run 6 puma workers each with

If your app is thread-safe and mostly I/O bound, try the puma[1] 2.0 beta releases. You can cluster processes like Unicorn, but also run multiple request threads in each process for maximum concurrency. Don't forget `config.threadsafe!` to

As the author of pry-nav, I'm really glad to see more people using it! Thanks and please file issues if you get any odd behavior. I've been trying to improve the tracing.

reattach-to-user-namespace also fixes the following when running launchctl from tmux: Bug: launchctl.c:2408 (24957):13: (dbfd = open(g_job_overrides_db_path, O_RDONLY | O_EXLOCK | O_CREAT, S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR)) != -1 launch_msg(): Socke

Wow, this is exactly the list of improvements IMO that would make GitHub a perfect code review platform. Especially push on comment threads.

Just use https://github.com/ChrisJohnsen/tmux-MacOSX-pasteboard . Works for pbcopy, pbpaste, and launchctl. Then just alias launchctl to "reattach-to-user-namespace /bin/launchctl"

I understand the .git search path, but I almost never use `git clean` in my projects (usually just `git reset --hard` or `make clean`), so I've never been too worried. But your solution is definitely safer -- although I think you meant GIT_

With * in .gitignore, you'd have to use '-x' with 'git clean' to delete everything. That's idiot-proof enough for me.

I do the same ( https://github.com/nixme/dotfiles ). To minimize noise, I put * in my .gitignore so only files that are 'add -f' are tracked.

Yes, most likely. And hopefully the version number is incremented semantically so `bundle update` doesn't break anyone that really needs 1.6. If you haven't tried rails-behaviors[1], I recommend it. It's a modular, drop-in replacement for j

Why not just put an explicit version number directly in the Gemfile. Seems easer than vendoring the gem and bloating the repo (unless you're worried about old versions being yanked from rubygems).
