I was in the same position sometime back. I was convinced that chasing startup money and fame was some objective form of happiness. The chase never made me happy. Luckily, I woke up before I made any hires. My startup is still profitable, b

I am in Thailand now, where the amount you see on the menu is exactly what you pay. I just spent 10 days in New Delhi, India, where they add between 25% and 33% to your bill, before tips, in the name of VAT, Service Tax and Service Charge.

Technically, it isn't required for the Netherlands. Germany requires a degree for work visa, but makes an exception for tech industry, so it's not required there either, if you go by the rules. However, a friend got his visa for G

As someone who has been living that life for 2 years, and can retire today, at 24, it isn't the utopia people think.

I got in touch with an incubator and a prominent immigration law firm last week. The incubator told me they are no longer associated with the Startup Visa program, and the law firm told me that most VC and incubators have withdrawn. Very fe

I grew up in a tier-2 city in India, and the amount of black money rich people hoard around here is of ginormous proportions. Easily > 50% of the income for most rich folks. Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Not trying to get out sooner. Moving to a different country, and building a life there is a long, arduous, and lonely process, and I'm not even remotely close. I'm 24 already, and I regret having to spend the best years of my life

It's pretty hard to get traction through the plugin repository. I offer mine for sale at codecanyon.net. I feel the repository is good for utility plugins, but well-made, premium plugins should definitely be on a marketplace.

We do get people using our site for phishing (perks of a freemium model), and, being a small fish, sometimes get the whole domain blocked. Working on the uBlock thing. They haven't replied back.

I run https://formcrafts.com and http://formcraft-wp.com , and both are profitable, netting over 150k+ a year in total. They were my side projects when I was in accounting school, lol

It says on border.gov.au: The Business Visitor stream is for people travelling to Australia for a short business visit. This includes making a general business or employment enquiry, negotiations or participating in a conference.

I am quite sure a much larger number of rapes in India go unreported. Women are discouraged from reporting such cases, specially in rural areas. Most of India is rural. The few which do get reported are probably the ones affecting mid-to-up

Getting Canadian visa would become tricky if someone is turned down for a B1 / B2 visa, but it's worth a shot. He can also re-apply for a US visa.

I've had mixed experience in Canada. Yes, the companies here are traditional and salaries are low, but that isn't all of the market. I have interviewed at a few exciting companies, all of which pay good salaries. Not SV-high, but

Just switched over from Sublime to Atom yesterday. Couldn't be happier. The community around Atom is active, and exciting, much unlike Sublime Text. I hope subsequent updates make it faster, since ST still has an edge there.

I love the Bay Area, and would have loved to work there, but the draconian immigration laws and the 16-year wait for Green Cards are simply not worth it. I'll get paid half as much in Canada, but at least my future doesn't hang on

I want more than a laid-back life. I already make more than an SF-salary. The opportunities to grow and learn are very little in a developing country. I've learnt more from 2 months spent in SF than I did 5 years in my country.
