In this case it seems Goodrich is the one to damage his reputation. Copying the press on this doesn't show much class and doing it as BCC is simply dishonest. Of course, with another journalist (or a journalist) it might have ended there.

Here was a point-by-point rebuttal but I deleted it now since turning this to a Reddit-like argument is pointless. In any case, my problem is not with Twitter. I see it as a neat niche app - maybe you're right and it will be a huge app. Nob

The Web has seen its share of hype, but I think Twitter is pushing it to new levels. Most people don't really need or even understand Twitter's functionality. Those who do are getting it from Facebook. But the best part is that the numbers

Er, my URL-unshortening service just returns the URL ;) http://therealurl.appspot.com/ There are some possible uses for such a service, I think. For example if you want to get this functionality via JavaScript (eg JSONP), or perhaps you j

I just added it lookup caching - ended up using memcache, turns out GAE supports it pretty nicely: http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/memcache/overvi...

Right now, its all live. I'll probably add it later on, if it gets enough use that it makes sense. I wonder Google App Engine supports output caching, that might be even better performance-wise.

It did work out ok for MySQL and JBoss, though ;) Phusion offers a focused product - you install it, usually very easily, and you're done. It's hard to see a simple way to monetize it other than charge money for the product itself (thereby

It seems like one of the things that exist when a medium is young and there aren't that many people using it. There were probably some celebs you could email in 1990 (or IM in 1997) and have them reply. I doubt this will last if Twitter gro
