Absolutely not sure but isn't starch just a long chain of sugars that we can break apart? Might not get it down to a monomer but certainly breaks it apart for the enzymes to have more ends to attack.

Vigna's RNGs are faster and as good statistically so it's not clear why you'd use PCG. They are a neat theoretical construction however I believe they have some serious flaws when attempting to split and construct multiple st

Agreed. Captures a lot of the issues you get at scale. Very solid book. Wish it had been out when I was still working on systems at cloud scale.

Forbid mandatory arbitration for b2c and b2smb Or forbid it entirely. What exactly is the problem with writing a law to stop an abusive practice?

Or just amend the Federal Arbitration Act to deny the use of arbitration as a tool to suppress legitimate use of the courts to address remedies. In the meantime create a tool to allow for mass arbitration actions.

SCOTUS interpretation of an act is case law. With a single legislative act, we need not worry about this or anything else, modulo constitutional issues which can also be fixed via amendments. No, it is not obvious that API is a "functi

So we do not have to have a decade of a case that could be rendered moot with a single act.

The solution here is to pass a law that exempts APIs from copyright, not to rely on a geriatric body of lawyers to interpret laws not designed around technology

You can view it as a personal decision or a community decision. Do we restrict the community for the individual or the individual for the community? Your feelings on this aren't universal and neither are mine.

Bingo. The plural of anecdotes isn’t data. Until there is a good study that controls for biases as well as expected side effects of severe disease like pneumonia, we can conclude nothing about the population

I remember using this in 2013/2014 and there were some serious bugs and issues with silos at load. I'm assuming it's proven scalability? The grain/silo virtual actor model was always cool though the project abandoned it

Glad I bought AMD years ago at $7 once they had a solid CEO like Su who can execute well. I have hopes that Swan can kick out the dilletantes. Too much engineering going on at Intel that doesn't translate to actual progress.

There's growing evidence that excess sugar consumption is at the root of many metabolic diseases including heart disease. It certainly doesn't hurt to cut down on sugar intake. Easiest to avoid eating added sugars and saccharine s
