There’s something called a substantive transformation test in copyright law. When you write a summary of a book, you don’t infringe on copyright because it’s a “substantial transformation”. This goes along with the idea that you can copyrig

Yeah, some of the Apple pages are pretty bad too, and I feel Jobs would've kept it more minimal. But to me, this blog is worse because it's supposed to showcase a whole article, and it's hard to read (and not even compatible

Steve Jobs used to say the problem with Microsoft is they don’t have taste. The font-shimmering effect on scroll immediately reminded me of that, it is really distracting. And you can’t use reader mode to disable it. (FWIW, I’m a fan of Bil

This is an excellent article, and SaaS Pegasus is a great solution for people starting a project. But some of the advice here is dated. The architectural patterns are still valid, but the specifics have changed: * Vite instead of create-rea

It’s been fascinating to watch this play out with the drone stories in NJ too. Despite all our amazing tech, we still can’t tell truth from fiction.

Oh that sounds useful. Basically bypass the grid and just power an ac directly. Do you have any examples of units like this?

The free market theory still works with the barriers, it’s just that the “excess profits” have to get even higher before someone steps in to build.

That all makes sense, it sounds like you haven’t ruled out supporting TS directly in production, but it’s complex and you have to move carefully and you’re not sure if you’ll get all the way there. Is that right ?

Could you expand on why transpiling is the right long-term strategy for production? I get that right now you don't support some TS-specific features like enums. Is that the concern? Those seem like a few legacy exceptions, new TS capab

At first I thought that's not a big deal, I could manage that with `nvm`. But I think you're right, you really want it to pick up the project-specific typescript so that you're using ONE version of typescript for type checkin

The biggest loss at highway speeds is actually wind. I think wind resistance goes up with the cube of speed. As a result, electric cars are more efficient in typical city driving. You can see it in the MPG stickers , which are higher in cit
