Not aware of one based on jison. There is Tern [0], which is based on acorn [1] by the same author. (Sorry if you knew about this already, but others may be interested). [0] http://ternjs.net/doc/demo.html [1] https:&

I don't believe BrowserSync does 'hot code loading' like Amok is doing. Hot code loading is when you update the running code without reloading the page, preserving any state in the program running. If you watch the start of t

I think you are misunderstanding. This is a compiler, not a transpiler. It compiles JavaScript into an executable binary.

I agree with you in principle that if apps don't meet 1, 2, 4 & 5 they shouldn't see light of day but I think your points are largely spurious or handled by any semi-competent dev. 1 & 2 are a basic feature of JS MVC frame

Good shout, this seems like a pretty major accessibility bug, bit saddened that as a professional web dev I wasn't aware of it, otherwise I probably would've been applying a standard workaround like @sarciszewski.

There are a huge number of people who don't enjoy programming in lisps and don't buy the tradeoff that homoiconicity is somehow worth sacrificing all syntax for. You can take 'good parts' from functional programming with

Yep the Ember team also seem to have come to the same conclusion on 2-way bindings. My dumb takeaway is something like '2-way bindings demo well but are rarely what you actually want in real apps'. I think (not 100% sure) Tom &

Badly implemented apps are badly implemented, native apps aren't immune to this phenomenon.

Not totally sure I get you, native apps tend to use a combination of placeholders and spinners too (when loading network content). Are you saying people are harsher in their judgement of web-apps, or more accepting?

You'd prefer to see nothing (or nothing but a spinner) until everything is available to be shown?

The style guide is surely longer when using a toolset with fewer conventions? If I'm using Backbone over Ember, my style guide has to cover things that would be covered by Ember's own docs, for example how to compose views, how to

Absolutely, I'm beginning to lose patience repeating the frankly blinding-obvious-at-this-point-argument you just had to make, but I'm glad others like yourself haven't. The 'don't use frameworks, use libraries'

Yep, SPAs and loading screens are not synonymous and the implication that any SPA can be replaced with a traditional multi-page app with no loading concerns and comparable UX is purposely obtuse.

People are talking about accidentally blocking the event-loop, e.g. accidentally creating an infinite loop, not 'using any CPU'.
