Does Hawkins do that? I've not watched this one yet, but his talks are always much more high-level than that I think, and while his work is under the general umbrella of artificial intelligence, what he is actually trying to do is to e

What was wrong with Firefox? I've used it every day since starting a new job seven months ago and I've not noticed any issues with it.

Hm, that's a perspective I hadn't considered. I still orangutans should have rights, though.

It's basically the speciecist argument, that we have rights because we're human, not because of anything that goes along with being human.

I'm using a multitude of nested flexboxen in a web app currently in testing and it's working well. There may be theoretical performance issues and slightly odd behaviour at points but nothing I've noticed -- main thing is all

You can't just say you worked at Be and not tell more stories! When were you there and what did you do? Why do you think you didn't take over the world? Have you tried Haiku?

This if obviously true, but I don't think this means we shouldn't demand openness in hardware, though. Openness for me is first and foremost ideological, not practical, and certainly not just about the results. It's really ab

Not a fan of this way of thinking about university, as though it's some power-up in the competition to make the most money. It's all very American. What about learning and being in an environment that inspires you?

I just ran a few of my longer files through jslint.com and it looked like all the errors were related to me using two spaces for indentation instead of four, and some missing semicolons. But I don't know what sort of errors I should be

I've been writing JS for a few months, after years of hating it from a distance. I must say it's not as bad as I expected, inasmuch as you can basically pretend it's a somewhat wonky Scheme. The nicest part of it is the built

I'm into new dance music, and I think very few people will use an entirely analog setup anymore. Some will record instruments to computers, some will use software instruments, or a combination of the two. But I don't buy vinyl for

I wonder how much old 90's jungle/dnb and other dance music is just gone because it only ever existed on vinyl. Such a shame to think about.

Personally, I think we need more open source day-to-day peripherals like this: keyboards, USB hubs, card readers, everything. It all needs to be replaced with open, inspectable, blob-less, user-upgradable alternatives.

In the world of music technology, par for the course would be for protocols like this to be purposefully obfuscated, and constantly reinvented. Good on Korg for seeing the value of releasing this.

But if the only 3rd party apps I have installed on my Google-less, CyanogenMod'd Nexus are Firefox and VLC, there's a good chance I might like it?

It doesn't matter a lot, no. But you do have to pick one for your platform, and decide if you want to be tied to, say, Intel's specific offerings, or (in principle) anyone with an ARM license. If RISC-V gets off the ground, you&#x

re: linux I find that's less true than it used to be, at least on x86; I run a few pieces of non-free software, binary software (Xilinx tools, Renoise) and it's problem free. Huge statically linked blobs though.
