This is missing the supports list for the Intel Compiler (which to my knowledge has a pretty good C++11 coverage).

The article wasn't really meant as "Patch your own PHP and break compatibility". Rather it was intended as "Contribute new language features to the main PHP distribution" :) I wouldn't advise anyone to run PHP with patched syntax ^^

Only tangentially related, but I'd like to know: The Wikipedia article on the incident says "The first phone calls to emergency services via 9-1-1 were made at 12:39 a.m. The police arrived within 90 seconds and apprehended the suspect." I'

Just a bit feedback on the blog: The background image was very distracting for me. My eyes were always wandering off from the text. Not sure if that's just me or if others had that problem too.

I love this. It's always nice to see PHP being implemented on new platforms (we already have it to some degree running on C++, on JVM, on .NET, now on PyPy). Sadly most of those projects don't really make it to a production-ready state :/ I

I like the general idea of this, but think that it is nearly useless in its current form. It's way too superficial. To teach newbies how to do things right it doesn't suffice to link to a few resources and hope that they'll read them (hint:

Just using LC_ALL="C" would break people using some other language to write code. I personally strictly disagree with writing code in anything but English, but other people think it's okay to have Russian class names or something. Using LC_

Could you be a little bit more specific? What is crappy about the late static binging support for example? Btw, you can bind and rebind $this as of PHP 5.4.

I don't know much about OpenGL ES in particular, but backwards compatibility arguments are very tricky in general. On the one hand you have all the people maintaining legacy apps and not interested in improving their code. They'll scream at

This comment is wrong on just so many levels. You seem to think that browser are less secure than running native software. This is totally absurd. And this blog entry shows exactly that. In order to bypass the advanced sandboxing techniques

It may be a matter of taste, but I always considered this particular feature of == beneficial. In the normal case, it is what you need (in the context that most PHP applications deal with, namely communication over HTTP and with MySQL). Wha

The www.php.net mirror will only be rsynced tomorrow, for now use http://docs.php.net/manual/en/migration54.php instead to get infos about 5.4 features. It's a good bit more up to date.
