Super interesting post. Following blog links, the timeline in https://slack.engineering/all-hands-on-deck-91d6986c3ee also offers a look at the play by play. However, as far as I can read it, they have somewhat different vi

The article drops some names and, I guess, expects you to have heard of them. I have heard of Namal, so that is an instant indicator to me what they mean in this case by 'great'. I'm not sure that I buy the 'this will sc

I've only made it to Rule #2 in the book so far. But it is thought provoking. (Not strongly, in a Plato sense. But reflective.) It mentions studies (or parables? Who cares?) of people taking better care of their dogs post-surgery than

You can use slick wifi with Gutenberg books! There is a “send to kindle” function which allows you to either use a desktop application, or set up an email address you can send .mobi files to! Highly recommended if you get tired of plugging

In the US, Comcast generally doesn't get a good rep - but they've done the same: https://corporate.comcast.com/covid-19 Now if we could take a second to talk about all the "From CEO..." emails that are b

Yes. You can currently find that on the Fox News front page with the headline "Coronavirus kills 2nd man in Washington state, officials say". Edit: Which, FWIW, is next to the article "Virus cases in this country jump by 50 p

Just because the headline article changed? 1 hour after this is posted, the word coronavirus still appears 31 times, 8 times above the fold, and once as the hot topic "coronavirus spreads"... let's cool it.

Very much so. For me, note-taking also forces basic internal thought (I guess what you called process) as well, which is great. As I'm writing down the note, the next line has a relatively high percentage chance of being "wait, no

I agree with most this... but have somewhat of a counter point to "you can't copy a page title". You (often) can copy a page title into a client (Google) and expect it to find the right resource. This is usually done with art

Both Momondo and Google Flights are decent alternatives for finding good flights, although Hipmunk’s visualization feature is better than both. Momondo had to monetize a little in the past year, and now includes a little bit of referral spa

I’ve heard of companies matching the RSU 1:1, same value, same schedule. Not a sign on bonus though.

OP didn’t say significantly. The only reason I would agree with putting RSUs at a higher valuation is due to the vesting schedule - it often isn’t value now, but value in 2 years. So obviously “cash now” vs “stock now” is equal as you point

Reading the parent comment (and being somewhat a vim user) - "move the cursor to a certain place and enter some text" - sounds mostly about the first thing you mentioned - "move the cursor". Stock vim is mouseless, and

Genuinely curious - I thought it was strange when it first started - but surely every company must do this? Wouldn't making the investment of a large presence likely involve seeking concessions from each location as part of the scoutin

Really appreciate your phrasing - I feel the same way about Anthony Bourdain's material (while on a very different matter) - has convinced me to check out some more Alan Watts.
