We were trying it out for quite some time and it worked well apart from two things: anonymous access and the bigger blocker for us was AGPL. Minio and Garage having the same license means I would always prefer Minio.

We used it for around 2yrs with the s3 gateway and it was very stable for around 50 TB of data mostly very small files (50-200kb).

IP pricing declined constantly throughout the past few months. I sold IPs in December '21 for $55/IP and now they are at around $36-$40/IP.

This is bad, but storage boxes are already a backup target and the content of the backup target (actual files stored in in box) are not affected... "only" snapshots.

You have to plug in the cable somewhere. If the hardware where the x-connect is plugged in dies, has issues, has to be rebooted, etc. you have an issue and it's not like there were no CF issues ever.
