They specifically said they are not leaking all of the juicy user data they found. It's nice that they did that, but it's kind of like breaking into your house and stealing everything except your Rolodex because, well, that would be a dick

Do you learn the local language every place you live? I would suppose that's a pretty herculean task unless you already know several fluently and spend a considerable amount of time daily studying and practicing.

So as some of these comments suggest, yes, perhaps we need to actually teach people how to recognize outright stupid ideas even if it seems obvious to you and me.

The mountain of evidence pointing towards the Holocaust actually happening means that we should indeed let deniers speak but any position they take is so indefensible that it's more an exercise in observing human stupidity than considering

I used flocking in a game project in college (getting ad-hoc starship fleets to get into ad-hoc formations) with another condition: When the basic requirements are met, each ship should also try to align with a master "fleet admiral" ship,

When I saw the iPad launched I was very concerned we are moving towards a market of consumer-only devices; devices which you can't use creatively to make content, program applications, etc.. Things like programming will be considered a "spe

My method is to follow the developer on twitter / tumblr / whatever if I'm really excited, or simply wait for the various indie gaming blogs to pick up the news upon release (which they will).

Assuming we would have driverless cars, you don't have to worry about a gigantic shell of metal that is expensive, will break down at inopportune times, requires constant maintenance, copious parking space at any destination of your choosin

Let’s think of government as an industry, where countries are firms and citizens are customers. People should be thinking of governments/countries/cultures this way anyhow. Vote with your feet.

Writing an octree is definitely part of coding an MMO. It's a piece of software, of which an octree or something similar is a fundamental part, thus it totally fits. If this is too slow-paced or ground-level for your tastes ... avoid game d
