Meta, but I've personally switched to a proportional font for my coding. Heresy, I know, but it feels wrong to have to look at code as if I'm coding on an 80 column terminal in 1960. Input Sans is great: https://input.d

Again, no proof they're drug smugglers. You want to take the administration at their word with no proof? That's naive and foolish!

Don't forget the hawkishness and anti-socialist sentiments of Rubio. He can't wait to smash some "commies".

I heard a fascinating interview with Sandeep Vaheesan[1] He said in the early days of American electrification, private power companies wouldn't build lines to rural customers because it wasn't expected to be profitable. So rural

But that's a bad solution. (Otherwise why do TurboTax et al even exist in the first place?) IRS should just have a public free filing solution for everyone. If you have complicated taxes or want to do your own filing, you can still d

You mean AV Herald? The site says you can't use a relay service to access it. For example, Apple Private Relay.

You might know it as "dead code stripping": You remove all the things from the image that aren't used in your shipping app. Calling it "tree shaking" is web development term AFAIK.

My very minor complaint about TypeScript is you use to use `const` which is 2 additional letters. Seriously though, I do find it slightly difficult to reason about `const` vars in TypeScript because while a `const` variable cannot be reassi

Swift does let you declare an immutable variable without assigning a value to it immediately. As long as you assign a value to that variable once and only once on every code path before the variable is read: let x: Int if cond {

I use Swift for work. The compiler tell you this. If a mutable variable is never mutated it suggests making it non-mutable. And vice versa.

Why have an ICC at all then? If US soldiers are (once again) committing war crimes, will the US do anything? What’s the recourse for the victims of those crimes? Should there not be one?

Interesting read! Very minor nit: It would have been better to just replace the old-style long "s" (for example, in "curiofity") with a contemporary "s". EDIT: Looks like "long s" exists in Unicode:
