Yes, people often conflate the two. ChatGPT is nice for some coding things and asking what you want for dinner. That does not mean we're all out of a job and our society has to be radically rethought.

I am by no means an expert but I would imagine the answer to this question depends a lot on what you mean by 'a model'. Do you mean 'all of (e.g.) OpenAI's compute over an hour'?

I had the same reaction looking at the screenshots. Sure it could use a new coat a paint (maybe not _everything_ needs to be gray) but the foundation is fantastically usable.

I haven’t looked at this in detail, but it seems they confuse “human-friendly syntax” with “absence of (<[{“.

Looks cool! One bug I found: `curl www.google.com` works using 8.7.1 on macOS, but I get "Please enter a valid curl command" on your website.

Genuine question: is farming a blue collar job? My (possibly incorrect) image of farming is management of heavily industrialized processes, not of rolling up your sleeves.

I see your point. I think the solution you mention (top 50 trending models) is as good a solution as I could come up with. Maybe the flow should be: Select a GPU / device -> list all the runnable models, sorted by popularity descend

Not trying to be snarky: why do you hate paying a regular fee for regularly updated software? Wouldn't the alternative be upgrade pricing, which is essentially just subscription pricing with extra steps?

Inspired by this book, I wrote my bachelor thesis on the emotional experience of bureaucracy. I sent it to Graeber and he actually read it and replied. What a class act. R.I.P.

There is nothing new about trans people --- it's just that fewer of them are in hiding now. And "pretending to be the opposite sex" is transphobic, you may want to rethink.

I switched to Dvorak ±8 years ago, and I can still type qwerty almost as well as I could back then. I could imagine it being a problem if you're using other people's machines on a daily basis though.
