Max, Ultra, Extreme... at some point they're going to run out of adjectives with high enough magnitude to signal that it outclasses the previous one.

Shouldn't be news, the same would happen with literally any ad-based app.

Absolutely ancient in Rust's timeline (2019) but I wrote a thing on coming from Python and learning Rust (and Go): https://www.nicolas-hahn.com/python/go/rust/programming/2019... I actually don'

You can use all of these things without you personally knowing calculus. The point of the question is that it's posed by the people who aren't going to go on to create weather reports, credit card payment systems, video games, etc

I agree with this. A less tactful way of explaining it: "When am I ever going to use calculus in my life??" You? Probably never. But we're teaching everyone on the off chance that one of you goes on to do something useful wit

Find a "koans" repo you can work through, first of all. Advent of code after that. Then, implement a super basic Lisp.

Not "mainstream" but still fairly popular on the internet is Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality: http://www.hpmor.com/ . Yudkowski's Harry Potter makes a pretty good case for seeking immortality.

My issue was with lumping in Rust with D when saying they both have "notoriously low usage" when Rust has, conservatively, probably >10x the usage of D.

Rust is far more widely used than D in the industry, so it's no surprised that it's more supported at Meta. Re: Go, it's use cases overlap with the officially supported languages, so there's no broad need for it.

Go is mentioned and supported in specific use cases, just not as widely used as the other languages. It fits in a niche that overlaps with the supported languages, so there's no broad need for it.

This states that thefts under $950 are still illegal, but the actual amount of prosecution that happens is still up to the DA. I'm interested in how many of these cases (as a percentage) are actually prosecuted.

Interviewed with them back in 2017. Was very impressed with what they were doing and the apparent talent of their team. Didn't get an offer because I hadn't leetcoded enough but left a good impression on me.
