Wonder what stunted adoption of this? High costs, users not liking it b/c privacy, credit cards/tap to pay being a good enough experience already? The handful of times I used this, it was nice.

I'd think it's because they're introducing updates to address issues w/ the hardware quickly and want a rolling-release distro so users can get the updates faster.

I'm excited and hope that the open-source nature of this leads to an ecosystem of a lot of different devices all running similar software. I'd kill to have a garmin-esque pebble with fitness + gps tracking.

Does wezterm (or any other terminal emulator) have some way to attach to a session over ssh or over multiple ttys? It's the main thing stopping me from jumping ship.

Any Alacritry users have opinions on this? I've been waiting for its release and am looking forward to trying it. Wonder what the big differences are? I mostly appreciate Alacritty's simplicity and use tmux to manage multiple wind

Not that I don't think costs will dramatically decrease, but the $1000 cost per task just seems to be per one problem on ARC-AGI. If so, I'd imagine extrapolating that to generating a useful midsized patch would be like 5-10x But

I think it would be very cool if a company sold a box that lets people self-host really easily. Basically some mid-spec box that comes preinstalled with some nice web UI that lets you easily install popular self-hosted applications (immich,

This would fragment compiler optimization because now instead of compiler developers (collectively) focusing on 1-3 ISAs they're split across way more.

1. Want a simpler ISA 2. Build it 3. Realize adding a complex instruction that's weird can really boost performance in key use cases 4. Repeat 3 until someone thinks your ISA is overcomplicated and makes a new one

Yeah I don't see how gitlab fits nicely into Datadog's business. Maybe they just want some foothold in developer tooling (similar to Microsoft's moves with GitHub and NPM)?

Sounds similar to the issues FUTO [1] is having and why they made their "Source First" license[2]. Plausible definitely took a different approach though. Interested to see how it works out. [1] https://futo.org [2] ht
