I'm curious as to whether you still eat animals, knowing that you couldn't stomach slaughtering them?

I'm sure it's cyclic. It's not clear that America has always been prudish - think back to the swinging 60s and "free love".

Wasn't it a bit hypocritical of the vegetarians farming animals?

How did you like it? We're using it via an executable process engine at my current company on a project that's not yet in production, so I'm still on the fence. I have no idea if anyone from the "business" side will

That real estate agent fee is sickening. It's shocking that they can charge a percentage of the value of the property. With ever-rising house prices they're earning more and more without doing any additional work. This money also

This is a rehash of the referenced wired article, which itself is much older (1997). Hopefully he managed to get social welfare payments since then.

Not sure why you're being downvoted. I would have hoped that the introverted savants here would have more sympathy for being forced to take part in social activities

I agree about the humour, I even found it quite British! Maybe the author is being assimilated without their knowledge, and will soon become fond of aimless walks. The people in the comments here seem to think this innocuous article is a pe

It went much quicker after I learned the grammar! It's not like I'm thinking up all the terms that a sentence could possibly consist of, and then finding them in the text. Reading left-to-right you know what kind of word to expect

No, because English is my first language. German on the other hand is what I've learned as an adult and that's exactly what I'd do.

I don't think it's about being pedantic, but rather the idea of using something like a euphemism to lessen the impact of the act. If the OP had used quotes, like you yourself did, this would have made it obvious that they recognis

From what I recall they wanted to sell apples to the Egyptians, but the government refused. The crew ended up throwing the cargo overboard before it could perish. I heard about this originally from a great German podcast "Geschichten a
