I’d argue that he did found the Tesla as it exists now, but if you want to discount that, you could choose XAI, SolarCity, or OpenAI.

No, Musk has not just been lucky. He founded three companies which came to be valued over a billion dollars, each in a different industry; this is more than luck.

As far as I can tell, there was nothing about salaries until your comment. There was also nothing (either way) about raises until my recent comment. You asserted that the employees were salaried and wouldn't get a raise.

You're adding assumptions that the employee is #1 on salary, and #2 not getting a raise for the additional work. You've changed the assumptions and the situation...

Parent was talking about commercial diesel trucks which do not comply with the same regulations as passenger vehicles, and the article talks about stock non-compliance. Why are you changing the subject?

I agree, but this point seems to be orthogonal to the matters being discussed here. Your point is roughly analogous to 'providing too much consumer surplus is rewarded with more customers'.

Quebec also would have been worse off as an independent state, but threatening sovereignty gave (and continues to give) them important bargaining leverage. Additionally, Alberta has long-standing grievances, and ignoring those in favor of a

Government holding competitions for design, build, and maintenance separately was done for missiles, and it did not work well. Government has also designed at least one missile (Sidewinder by the Navy at White Sands), and the missile turned

The government has massive advantages when competing against Uber, namely that it gets to design the infrastructure and subsidize the system, so I would be unsurprised if Uber's efforts failed. That said, the government has historicall

In the vast majority of US cities, most people do not use transit. Most of the people who choose not to use Uber shuttles or busses will be opting for passenger vehicles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._citie

There are many places where private busses are the norm; in many countries these private operates have been crowded-out by subsidized governmental competitors, but there may be room for some now.

I have not seen any British Army officers criticizing Wagner's war crimes while protecting the SBS from similar accusations, though I'd agree that would be hypocritical. That being said, the OP is not about those people, it's

Customer service personnel are expensive to train properly, and often quit very quickly because they are treated very poorly by customers. The alternative to AI customer service is often no customer service (like Google).

Alarms usually don't prevent burglaries, but they often reduce the amount of theft, as the burglars take what they can do in one trip and leave, rather than comprehensively emptying the building/unit.

The journalists covering these stories are not members of the armed forces responsible for the actions you're talking about; they're not even government employees. It would be one thing if the SBS members accused of crimes were th

You’re engaging in ‘whataboutism’; if you’d like to discuss the Wagner Group, you should post something about them instead.

I was hit by a car while riding my bike, the accident was significant enough to write-off a brand-new bike (I was riding it home from the store), and I was glad to have been wearing a helmet. I would like to know why you think helmets have

If a stereo is defective, it might require a recall for replacement, which is very expensive. Additionally, anything which connects to the vehicle network has the potential to cause safety issues which can be even more expensive.

Car companies have to worry about regulatory compliance, certification, approvals, as well as warranties; aftermarket manufacturers do not have such concerns (at least to the same degree).

I agree that many federal programs are made up of many local components, though transportation has often been viewed as affecting interstate trade and military logistics. Food waste in Rhode Island does not seem to have a federal nexus.

The F-35 is used for defending airspace , a doubly-federal duty. Spreading the spending so widely is a purely political gambit (I believe pioneered by NASA with the Space Shuttle).

Thanks for posting the link, but it doesn’t make the program any more federal. Packaging a bunch of independent, local programs together under one umbrella doesn’t change the fact that they’re local programs. This really seems like the sort

RTOS-based development varies significantly from RTOS to RTOS, so I’m not sure how much it’d help to learn to use one. On the other hand, most fundamental OS knowledge is fully transferable to RTOS, so that would be helpful for embedded dev

You’re the one who is uninformed; in most (Anglo-sphere) parliamentary systems, the ministers do not need to be in the house of commons (elected), and often do not even have to be parliamentarians. Lord Halifax was eligible to be prime mi
