I could see protection happening on the digital landscape. With the physical merchandise it was tougher for a consumer to understand their lack of rights, but sadly I agree it will be tough. It's odd though. I bet there are huge groups of

The problem that no one is solving is ownership. If I pay $15 for movie from vdio, what happens if that company goes away? Why can't I switch my collection from iTunes to amazon, etc... Ultimetly that is the top reason I avoid buying digi

I find it flawed logic to think that just because a user loves Facebook they'll love a Facebook phone. Or likewise, because they do not like Facebook, they'll hate a Facebook phone. The Android phone is not successful because it contained

I'm curious as to why you think these products won't succeed, and particularly what opportunity they're missing by focusing on these.

All good points. I can remember being broke as a college student downloading music I didn't even want, and today I only buy music and rarely at that. Once you can afford something, I think many of us take a step back and then ask, "do I re

I'd love to see this problem fixed one day, but honestly I think not enough attention has been paid to keeping the supportive dialog and comments to a post relevant in social networks.

Actually this is a good point. Could all the talk about bubbles from some investors be in part spiking this increased interest in founders wanting to take more off the table now?

Are you sure Digg didn't sell because of the founders? From what I can gather from Kevin's interviews in the past, it sounded like he really wanted to exit Digg at that point, but his investors saw larger potential and it was tough to argu

Groupon has a proven model though. What the article is focusing on are the companies that haven't made large income or profitability. I assume the 20m example was probably from a company spending significantly more than that. Either way if

I can see the investors side on this. Its one thing to be concerned about general finances but if your founder is asking to become a millionaire before making a business viable, and is willing to sell his shares before his company reaches

I honestly have to disagree. I remember the day the iPhone was announced. There was nothing like it. Touch screen phones, yes. Apps on phones yes.. but nothing quite like the iPhone. They truly innovated there, and there are some comp

Much more effective to go after individual phone makers. If you go after Google you go after a company that obviously has a big stake in mobile share and will want to fight for it. If you go after individual phone makers, they have to decid

Personally I think this test is not set up properly. It does appear that IE 10 has made improvements on HTML5 support over IE9. Going off this test however, they would receive the same score of 130.

I voted for with points, but I think there really should have been a third option. The main reason I like points is it helps tell me what comments are worthy of me spending time to read when a story has 50+ comments. So without points, I th

I had this same idea the other day. Glad to see someone made this. I hope you add more content in the future. From a teaching perspective I think it would be great to see the math behind this as well to get the worst case scenerio.

really awesome idea... I think your underestimating yourself a little in thinking they didn't get many submissions. This is honestly a good idea executed well. Congrats on winning.

Can anyone name a situation where a company received record funding or major pre-release hype and wasn't heavily criticized for it? I can see why groups like KickStarter chose to have their funding stay silent while they grew.

ask for less from Facebook. I didn't even try it based on your permission requests. I'd recommend asking for just the minimum of what you need and then if they need to access a feature that requires more ask for it then. Do a progressive

I can't stand the HipMunk interface. I get its not for me, and am glad they are successful, but HipMunk is not a disruption at all. I agree with you completely. A disruption is a service like RedBox, a program like Napster, etc... They a

I'd go this route. It will help you out the thief, get you some links from any added press, and possibly even help market your company further. Lawyers are expensive and you could battle someone for a very long time. Is that really what y

My favorite part about their Info Graphic is that is took 11 months from idea to launch. Its also interesting to see the 4 year timespan. So often we can get frustrated by the time our ideas take to reach their goal, but its easy to forget

One more example. searching "Stella" should bring up A Streetcar Named Desire in the first page but shows up in the third due to popularity.

Maybe sort by relevance first. With movie quotes, I think you'll find a lot of niche groups that quote less popular movies than the ones with the largest box office.

One thing I'd do is work on improving the search. When I search "dude wheres my car" I get no results. However searching "dude where's my car" gets results. Also I'd work on ranking. For that search Harold and Kumar come up first even th
