Exactly. When I have some files open, I don't actually care what the application is. I don't care to keep a hierarchy of the owning applications in my mind. Whether a docx file opened in Word, Libre, Pages, TextEdit, or whatever..

I remember playing Robot R&D on these (a later version I think) in 4th grade. You walked a stick-man robot around. It has 3D wireframe graphics.

There is more nuance to it than this, but basically in x86 all memory writes are available to all cores via main memory, whereas with aarch64 they do not. On x86, a write by core A to memory will be available to core B if core B reads from

I tried macOS in Parallels and it was _awful_. Significantly worse than Windows 11 ARM and Ubuntu ARM. It seemed like it had zero acceleration. Very poor experience. I just used the wizard to install it so I didn't do anything weird.
